  • What are the average pay rates with Sugarman?

The average pay rates with Sugarman are competitive and reflective of industry standards. For teaching assistants, the average daily rate typically ranges from £75 to £110. For qualified teachers, the average daily rate is typically between £150 and £180. These rates may vary depending on factors such as location, experience, and specific job requirements.

  • How do candidates get paid?

At Sugarman Education, we offer two convenient payment methods for our candidates: PAYE and Umbrella Payroll.

    PAYE (Pay As You Earn)

When you choose PAYE, you become an employee of Sugarman Education. Your income tax and National Insurance contributions are automatically deducted from your wages each pay period. This method provides the simplicity of having your taxes managed for you, along with the benefits of statutory payments such as sick pay and holiday pay.

    Umbrella Payroll Provider

Opting for an umbrella payroll supplier means you are employed by a third-party company that handles your payroll. The umbrella company invoices Sugarman Education for your services, and after deducting their fee, they process your payment. This method can offer greater flexibility and sometimes additional benefits, depending on the umbrella company’s policies, but it’s important to understand any fees involved.

Both methods ensure that you are paid promptly and accurately for your work. Supply teachers and teaching assistants typically find no noticeable difference to their pay-packet – whether being paid by PAYE or via an Umbrella company. Click here to learn more about the differences. If you need help deciding which option is best for you, our team is here to provide guidance based on your individual circumstances.
