About the Role:
* Work closely with the child, tailoring support to meet their individual needs.
* Implement strategies to assist with communication, sensory needs, and engagement in learning.
* Collaborate with teachers, the SEND team, and external professionals to create an inclusive environment.
* Use visual aids, communication tools, and other resources to promote understanding and interaction.
* Foster a positive and nurturing relationship, encouraging the child’s independence and confidence.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
* Has experience working with children with autism or additional needs (preferably in a school setting).
* Demonstrates understanding of non-verbal communication methods, such as Makaton, PECs, or other alternative communication systems (training can be provided).
* Is calm, empathetic, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
* Works well as part of a team and can communicate effectively with staff and parents.
* Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
