About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school in Havering. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, ensuring they can access the curriculum.
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, behaviour management, and classroom activities.
Support children with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
Encourage positive interactions and help develop children’s social skills.
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO.
Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and harassment-free learning environment.
Requirements:
Previous experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant (TA), or similar role in a primary school setting.
Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable.
A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to working with children.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
