About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a primary school in Romford. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a meaningful impact on their education and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
✅ Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet the individual needs of pupils.
✅ Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and harassment-free learning environment where every child feels supported.
✅ Use strategies such as visual aids, sensory activities, and social stories to engage and support students.
✅ Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
✅ Support children with personal care needs where required.
Requirements:
🔹 Previous experience as an SEN LSA, Teaching Assistant (TA), or Support Worker in a school or specialist setting.
🔹 Understanding of SEN strategies and experience working with children with complex needs.
🔹 A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to working with children.
🔹 Strong communication and teamwork skills.
🔹 A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
