1:1 ASD Learning Support Assistant

We are looking for proactive and dedicated individuals to work as 1:1 Learning Support Assistant where you will be supporting children with Autism, Social Communication Difficulties and associated behaviours. Whether you’re experienced in special education.

The Role:

• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to support the delivery of high-quality education and support to students with additional needs and mild learning difficulties.
• Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans and behavioural support plans.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities.
• Support students with personal care tasks, as needed.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.

The Candidate:

• Relevant experience working with individuals with special educational needs preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
• PECS, MAKATON, TEAACH or TEAM TEACH would be an advantage but not necessary.
• Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development as required.
