Learning Support Assistant

We are looking for proactive and dedicated individuals to work as Special Education Teaching Assistants where you will be supporting children with Autism, Social Communication Difficulties and associated behaviours in small groups and one to one. Whether you’re experienced in special education or looking to gain valuable experience in the field, we have opportunities available for you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to support the delivery of high-quality education and support to students with additional needs and mild learning difficulties.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans and behavioural support plans.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities.
  • Support students with personal care tasks, as needed.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.

The Candidate:

  • Relevant experience working with individuals with special educational needs preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • PECS, MAKATON, TEAACH or TEAM TEACH would be an advantage but not necessary.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development as required.
