About the Role:
A welcoming and diverse primary school in Newham is looking for a passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting children’s learning and development, particularly those who need additional support in the classroom.
As an LSA, you will work alongside class teachers to provide tailored support for pupils with SEN, learning difficulties, or those needing extra guidance to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, helping them stay engaged and motivated in lessons.
✅ Assist with the adaptation of learning materials to suit different learning needs and abilities.
✅ Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans.
✅ Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being, ensuring children feel confident and included.
✅ Support children with SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning needs.
✅ Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and harassment-free environment where all pupils feel supported and valued.
Requirements:
🔹 Previous experience as an LSA, Teaching Assistant (TA), or in a similar support role within a primary school.
🔹 Experience working with SEN pupils or children with additional learning needs is highly desirable.
🔹 A patient, proactive, and caring approach to supporting young learners.
🔹 Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
🔹 A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
