Job Title: Year 6 Primary Teacher

Location: Brent, London

Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Year 6 Primary Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Brent. This position is ideal for a dedicated educator who has a strong focus on SATs preparation and possesses at least 5 years of experience working with Year 5 and Year 6 students.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach a Year 6 class in a three-form entry year group.
Collaborate with two experienced parallel teachers.
Provide additional support to two students with EHCPs (1 with ASD/ADHD and 1 with Global Delay), both of whom exhibit excellent behaviour and are well-supported.
Create a positive and calm learning environment for a high-achieving class with a strong emphasis on SATs preparation.
Implement effective classroom management strategies that are firm, fair, and non-confrontational.
Foster a team approach within the school community, treating everyone fairly.
Collaborate closely with parallel teachers to plan lessons effectively.
Participate in marking during lesson time, promoting staff well-being and a healthy work-life balance.
Use green marker highlights and provide short comments as well as verbal feedback to students in class.
Adhere to the school’s behaviour policy, which utilises a colour card scheme.
Embrace a leadership team with an open-door policy and a commitment to working collaboratively with staff and families.
Qualifications:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
At least 5 years of experience in primary education, with a focus on Year 5 and Year 6.
Strong knowledge of SATs preparation and assessment.
Experience working with students with EHCPs, particularly those with ASD/ADHD and Global Delay.
Excellent classroom management skills, emphasising fairness and a calm approach.
Ability to collaborate effectively with parallel teachers and the wider school community.
Commitment to adding value to students’ learning journeys.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
