As part of the National Tutoring Programme, you will be supporting children and young people who need extra support due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The tutoring you will deliver will be in addition to their learning in the classroom.
The support you provide will either be on a one-to-one or group (no more than 3) basis and will be delivered during the school’s normal working day.
To become an NTP tutor you will need to either apply for one of our NTP tutor roles or you can contact our team.
Following initial contact, you will be sent a brief application pack to complete and return to your consultant. Once the first steps of your compliance checks are completed you will be invited to attend an interview.
Following your interview, any remaining compliance checks will be made. You will be notified by your consultant when your application has been completed and we will then be able to place you into work.
You can decide if you want to provide tutoring in schools or via our online platform Affinity Tutors. If you would like to deliver the tutoring in schools, you can decide how far you are willing to travel to each school. This can be discussed at the interview stage.
Affinity Tutors is an online learning platform, set up for teachers to deliver tutoring sessions remotely to anywhere across the UK.
The system is fully secure and all user activity is tracked. You will be able to make the lessons fun and engaging via our interactive tools such as live video chat and interactive whiteboards to allow co-viewing and co-editing of resources including diagrams, notes and questions.
You don’t need any extra equipment to start a session, all you need is a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and a good internet connection.
If you would like to join Affinity Tutors, we will help you set up a tutor profile on the system once you are fully compliant and ready to work. You can discuss this with your consultant during the registration process.
You will be paid weekly into your bank account. The hourly rates will be discussed and agreed prior to the commencement of any tuition assignment. This will be discussed with you before you are placed into work.
